Plum Hill is proud to bring you the Second Annual Plum Hill 5K Run/Walk. This annual event is presented to you in the honor of Vera "Beep" Klister.
Vera "Beep" Klister had a dream to offer people her best breads and other homemade goods. She opened "Beep's Back Door Oven" and began selling bakery at local farmer markets. In the summer of 2004, Beep and her husband, Dave, purchased the historic property at 313 Dodge Street in Kaukauna to further her dream of having a bakery/café. Beep passed away in January of 2008 of leukemia. The 5K Run/Walk is being held in her memory in addition to raising awareness of this deadly disease.
Kaukauna Hydro Park will be the site of the 2nd Annual Plum Hill 5K Run-Walk for Leukemia & Lymphoma. The run walk, held on Saturday, May 21, 2010, is open to participants of all ages and experience levels. Benefitting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Wisconsin, the run walk was originally envisioned by Dave Klister, owner of Plum Hill Café and has been made a reality by the friends and family of Plum Hill.
The proceeds of this event will be donated to The Leukemia & Lyphoma Society of Wisconsin. Please help us chip in to fighting this deadly disease. We appreciate the efforts of everyone who helps with this charity event.
Plum Hill Cafe has established a reputation of fine cuisine in Kaukauna. Whether you stop in for coffee and dessert or come for the Friday Fish Special, your senses will be overwhelmed.
